Ron Schmidt, Managing Director of Rosswood Communications, Inc., is a corporate communications manager with 20 years of experience at technology startups, small public companies, and Fortune 100 firms. He has worked with networking, storage, information security, medical devices, PC peripherals, and green technologies on a variety of communications initiatives. Ron holds a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the recipient of the STC Technical Communications Award, winner of the IABC Leadership Development Award, a LEED Accredited Professional and past president of Silicon Valley IABC.


As managing director of Rosswood Communications, Ron helps organizations reach their goals by packaging and delivering communications that engages customers, employees and partners. Past and present clients include Cisco, Guidant, Secure Computing, Tollbridge Technologies, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, BNIM Architects and Rumsey Engineers.


Ron has presented at MacWorld, Co-op America Green Business Conference, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, and various trade associations. In May 2009, he co-led a Social Media Crash Course with Rene Siegel and Brian Johnson.


Ron began formally mentoring aspiring communications professionals and individuals in career transition in 1998 through his association with the (now defunct) Career Action Center in Cupertino, Calif. He enjoys working with students, executives, small business owners and other ambitious individuals to help them cultivate their personal brand and achieve career success.
